As I mentioned earlier in this thread, it's not the antennas - unlike scanners, he's correctly demodulating the CPQSK signal from the sites.

Once you do that, reception becomes golden.

Antenna choice and position still matter some for the more distant sites. Moving a few feet can drastically reduce my reception of Hennepin West or Anoka.

The demodulation still has lots of little parameters that can be adjusted to improve the reception. And I have spent way too many hours playing with them...

I rebooted yesterday and accidentally switched back to an old talkgroup list*. All listed talkgroup should now be working again.

* Old list has been deleted so it will never be used again.

I had not picked up activity on METCOM for a few months on tower 2-001 until last night shortly after reading fwfdengine2 request, I picked up a call between Isanti and Anoka county.

What are the chances of adding Counties north of the Metro, such as Isanti, Pine, Carlton, and even Duluth

Why is it that no one has a live feed for Chisago County / Lakes Area Police / Lindstrom, Chisago, Center City.... ? only Fire?

Because the 800 coverage at my residence (Chisago Lakes area) isn't reliable what-so-ever. You'd need to be in North Branch or Taylors Falls for good coverage. I wish we could get it on this scanner.johnmoe scanner site.

I'd love to cover the entire state***, BUT:
A) I don't know anyone in most of the state who would be willing to have a computer/radio/antenna in their house and provide Internet and power.
B) I don't have the money to buy the hardware.
- It runs about $900 per site for hardware. $400 for dedicated computer* + $440 for radio + tax, antenna, cables, etc.

If someone wants to provide A & B, I would be happy to install/configure/update the software and serve selected talkgroups on the web site. The person would also have access to archives (a 1 TB hard drive probably stores 5 years or so) of all talkgroups and all control channel messages recorded on the computer.

* i5-3330 or better [ATC-705-UR58 from MicroCenter looks good at this moment] with a USB 3 port (and wifi if that is how you intend to connect to the Internet); hard drive will be erased and linux installed

** Nuand bladeRF x40 + case

*** Properly placed, I would think the entire state could be covered with maybe 40 locations. I think it is funny to imagine that for something like $40K we could have an amateur archive of every single over-the-air ARMER transmission. How many millions of dollars have been spent in MN by counties, etc to archive radio transmissions?

John,
I'm midway between the Hennepin County Home School (hwy 62 & Eden Prairie Road) and Chanhassen. Would that site fill in the Henn East, West and Carver County traffic, or is it too close to you? I believe the Home School site is licensed to cover both Henn East & West. I'd supply both A and B. I used to host echolink for the 442.925 formerly on IDS.

I'd be willing to fund one in Hugo. I should be able to pull in Chisago county if I put my yagi in my attic. Even if that didn't pull it in your system is impressive and something I wouldn't mind having for what I already monitor.

Will a i3 dual core or an i5 dual core either with usb 3.0 ports be adequate? I'm trying to get a feel of processor power required to decode multiple talk groups simultaneously. Say if 8 talk groups are active?

The site seems to be down at this time. Are you working on it?
I really think you need to consider a subscription service to this or something. I'm sure many are willing to pay to help cover nay cost you may have.

The top dot is yellow and the bottom is red for me. Stuck on Loading Talkgroups... Does that mean anything to you? Or me?

The only changes I made was my antivirus. I deleted Avast and installed Bitdefender. When I disabled Bitdefender it worked fine. When I enabled it again it wouldn't work. So I just change to a different antivirus and its working fine.
