I'd love to cover the entire state***, BUT:
A) I don't know anyone in most of the state who would be willing to have a computer/radio/antenna in their house and provide Internet and power.
B) I don't have the money to buy the hardware.
- It runs about $900 per site for hardware. $400 for dedicated computer* + $440 for radio + tax, antenna, cables, etc.
If someone wants to provide A & B, I would be happy to install/configure/update the software and serve selected talkgroups on the web site. The person would also have access to archives (a 1 TB hard drive probably stores 5 years or so) of all talkgroups and all control channel messages recorded on the computer.
* i5-3330 or better [ATC-705-UR58 from MicroCenter looks good at this moment] with a USB 3 port (and wifi if that is how you intend to connect to the Internet); hard drive will be erased and linux installed
** Nuand bladeRF x40 + case
*** Properly placed, I would think the entire state could be covered with maybe 40 locations. I think it is funny to imagine that for something like $40K we could have an amateur archive of every single over-the-air ARMER transmission. How many millions of dollars have been spent in MN by counties, etc to archive radio transmissions?
