External antenna adaptor BCD 536

Hi all I would like to be able to use my external VHF/UHF antenna with my Uniden BCD 536. THe antenna has a PL259 connector on the end. What adaptor do I need to conntect it to a 536?

You already have what you need... the 536 has an SO-239 antenna connector that mates directly with the PL-259 on your external antenna.

No it does NOT! It has a BNC connector so he needs a SO239 to BNC adapter.

Except I'm not keen on the idea of hanging a string of adapters onto a panel mount BNC. Much better to get a BNC to SO239 cable adaptor.

That IS the best advice. You do not need any stress on the radio's connector.

They also make the adapter cable with SMA connectors for later portable radios and scanners.
