PSR-800: EZ SCAN will not run after windows 10 update

I apologize if this has been addressed. I have searched and can not find an answer.

After updating to Windows 10 EZ Scan no longer runs. Is there a know solution to this issue?

I want to clarify that I have had windows 10 for some time and could run EZ Scan with no problem. There was a recent update to windows 10 and the Ez Scan software will not run since this occured.


If this needs to be moved to the software section please do so.

I appreciate any help with this.

Caddop22....Did you ever get this problem solved? Do you get any specific error messages when it fails? Did the windows update mess up the drivers maybe? Maybe get another fresh EZ-scan download and reinstall?? I would like to know the answer for myself too? I did not upgrade to Windows 10 just in case of problems like this! I chose to keep windows 8.1 until they stop there security updates next year! Thanks

I use i-scan with my RS Pro-668, not sure abut ez-scan????

I never had an issue. Have you tried reinstalling the software?

I did try to reinstall the software and did get an error message. I will have to try again later and I will post the error message then.

I thought about removing the software and then do a fresh install.

Try right clicking and select more then select run as administrator. I run Ezscan for Whistler and GRE and have not had any problems with win 10 running as an insider.

I had a similar problem after updating to Windows 10, it would not open the EZ Scan app. After that, the SD card in my scanner went bad. So, following the advice from RR members, I first purchased and installed a new SD card in the scanner. I then reloaded the CD that originally came with the scanner back into the computer, (after deleting the first one I originally installed), and then uploaded the information from the computer to the SD card in the scanner, and everything was restored and it is working great! Also, now the EZ Scan app opens in Windows 10. Hope this helps!

Thank you all for your replies. I fixed it but had to take on extra step,

1 I uninstalled the software using the GRE uninstall

2 I reloaded the software clean install

I still had the problem so I took this step and solved the problem

3 I went to the documents folder and deleted the GRE com directory. Did a restart on the computer and the software ran. I then uploaded my SD card to the software all was fine.

Warning deleting that folder wipes all of your scanlist data etc.

Can someone please put this in the wiki and credit me. I can't figure out how to do itl LOL

Caddop22.....That is great information! Glad you were able to get it Ironed out! I need to bookmark this thread because I will be faced with "10" one of these days and no telling what to expect? Thanks again
