There is a file by that name and in that location, and I scanned it using AVG. There were no problems found.

There's several antivirus softwares that warns as soon as one program tries to modify an already existing file, as it thinks it could be placing malicious code in it. It probably depends of how the code is written, if it reads the whole file, modifies it and rewrite the whole file back, or if it uses a routine that only goes into an adress in the file and put some bytes there, which will raise a red flag.

Norton always squawks about Whistler because of few users. The antivirus folks error on the side of caution.

Many anti-virus utilities are known to create false-positives. It's a form of fear mongering to convince you to keep paying for their product and updates. If you're running Windows 10 you don't need any of them other than Windows Security that comes with Windows 10. That's all I've been using since Windows 10 was released, never a problem.

Avast! antivirus also does NOT like EZ Scan. Just turn off your antivirus temporarily until the update is finished.

I haven't done any download or update. I had this for a month or so I just click on the icon to open it and that message came up. I didn't click any of those 2 it closed itself.

The problem is McAfee, not EZ Scan. Remove that and replace it with something like Malwarebytes.

Reinstalling McAfee won't make a difference. It's going off of definitions that come from their servers. You can exempt the file or the whole folder in McAfee instead.
