The number and frequency of these data breaches is ridiculous already. They happen all the time it seems. These are the "best and the brightest" that are supposed to be protecting our data, but continue to fail at that task spectacularly. And yet, we continue to plow ahead at breakneck speed, putting everything online.

If my FARCEbook account ever gets hacked, they can keep it. I won't even bother trying to recover it. I hope the OP can resolve his login problems

Which app are you using?

We use Duo at work and I have my facebook account authenticated through that. It's functioning as it's supposed to for me.

Whatever you do, facebook doesn't have call centers for people to call for support! Those are scammers!

The problem could be time. Go to Time.is - exact time, any time zone. Is there a discrepancy?

2FA is just a base32 number. The usual 6 numbers that change are every 30 seconds. But correct time is needed to have the right 6 digit number. For those not aware, you DO NOT need Google Authenticator, Authy or the other stupid privacy invading crap. For Android and maybe iOS there's the open source and free App called Aegis. On the computer I use a password manager called Keepass that allows plug-ins. One plug-in I use is called KeePassOTP which facilitates my 2FA needs. I also use Bitwarden which also has 2FA built-in if you pay the $10/year. As of this post I highly recommend Bitwarden.

The only problem with Keepass and Aegis (well, not really a problem it's actually good) is that you MUST backup its databases yourself. Since I don't trust someone else's computer (the cloud) this suits me just fine. When I do use the cloud I use more than one encryption. So not only is the Keepass or Aegis database encrypted, but I encrypt it again with a Veracrypt container or a 7Z executable archive that uses AES256. Then I upload to the cloud. I do this for most of my data I don't want anyone to see.

Anyway, if you still have the Base32 seed, you can use Aegis to get in. But I doubt you have that. Unless! You can view the seed in the Facemoron 2FA App.... Now just copy/paste it over to Aegis.

Edit-

Do you suspect account takeover? Don't EVER trust e-mails. This is where base32 2FA will fail. And I would not use a lame Passkey that everyone is pushing either. You're relying on the cloud for your private keys. No way! Use FIDO or Yubi keys. They are like a USB stick and can use NFC (Near Field Communication) for your phone. Buy 2. One for a backup. Store the backup in a plastic bag in a $40 fireproof safe. I have three.
