Not so fast

The FCC has returned this application because they think 857.7375 is wrong. State of CA is on that freq. TBA, FYI, etc...

I see they are testing the move. Once they move, could you please update the database? I would like to see if I can RX them, Right now they are a little far from my home!

Thanks

Plugged the new freq.'s into the 996 at the station and ran an ID search thinking I'd hear a little of the simulcasting, but doesn't seem like they are doing it at the moment. Does anyone have TG information for the Fairfield side?

We've been current on the new system frequencies for awhile, as we monitor Vacaville. They come in perfectly clear. The new talkgroups for Fairfield aren't listed in the database yet, and understandably so, as they aren't live with it. I just didn't know if for the purposes of the simulcasting, if they were operating off any particular talkgroup. I ran the 996 in ID Search mode for awhile today just to see if I heard anything from Fairfield with the addition of the new frequencies, and I didn't. I'll check back periodically, and if something comes up, I'll post it in here.

heard them testing today TGID 8240

were talking about going to the BROWN and BLUE channels but had/have problems with PD crosstalk.
3pm

6pm now, and the radio techs are driving home with the new radios to "test" distance.
They were testing on Fairfield's BLUE, BROWN, RED, YELLOW, and SILVER channels while Fairfield main dispatch switched to the YELLOW.
the TGID's they were testing on were 189,190,199,and 200
originally they were set up this way:
189= BLUE
190= BROWN
199= RED
200= YELLOW

of these, the only one that remained was 199=RED which will be FIRE DISPATCH. they kept switching the other channels and mixing up some of the TGID's for the BLUE,BROWN,and SILVER.
The TGID's that i mentioned were all from word of mouth from the techs on TGID 8240 and not actually "seen" popping up on the radio. When they said they were "retesting" ID 189, the tech would come up on the original channel BLUE but not in trunk, etc.

will keep updating as they do!

Fairfield is still using its original BLUE and BROWN channels for PD and the RED for FIRE....HOWEVER.....

Sometimes the pd units say they are going to the YELLOW real quick, and i try to go follow them to the channel that is listed in our database, i cant hear anything. Then 2-3min later, the same units that said they were going to the YELLOW, pop back up on the main channel and announce that they are "back on the BLUE". So wherever they went, i dont know-maybe that channel is incorrectly listed or perhaps, outdated.

ALSO...ive always known the Fairfield FIRE channel as "the RED". starting as of December 25, ive heard, and been hearing all day, dispatch as referring themselves to "the PURPLE".

change of pace?
holiday trickery?
color change to throw me off?
too much wax in my ear?...

i dunno?!

Update

ive been hearing techs running around the Fairfield/Vacaville areas for the past 2 days on TGID:8496.
Listening to them has led me to believe that they are trying to roam all over the coverage area trying to locate dead spots for the system.
Sometime, in the backround, you can hear the curent PD channels going off.
way too much "loose talk". As if they think no one is listening.
Funny stuff.

Are the frequencies below correct for this system? If they're all in use the database should be updated.

851.1375
851.4125
851.7750
852.2000
853.2125
853.6625
854.9875
858.4375
858.9375

Thanks.

I finally decided to take the plunge and do the rebanding update for my BCD396T, and I reprogrammed Vacaville in CC only mode to test it. It works great! I live in Sacramento so I had to hold the scanner just right to get reception. I heard activity on one of the new frequencies (858.4375), and a new TGID (9584). I heard MDC data at the end of the transmissions on that TGID so it is probably a simulcast conventional frequency, maybe Fairfield PD?

i too heard TGID 9584 this morning at around 3am. i dont know who that was as i was in my car heading away from the signal. However, Fairfield PD, as of right now, is simulcast on TGID 8240 for PD (BLUE) and 8400 for FIRE(RED)

All those frequencies that you are requesting are in the database. For Vacaville City, Travis AFB, and the prisons, look down at the bottom of the database under trunked radio systems. They are all listed there. I've noticed Travis can be a little tricky as they are mostly digital. Sometimes I get them clear, sometimes I don't. For CHP, look in the state database under CHP and find the Solano office. Other than that, all the other county freq.'s that you are looking for are listed.
