The FCC database will be down from Friday 11/12/04 9PM unitl Monday 11/15/04 6AM for maintenance. We will not be able to do any ULS frequency searches during that time.

I read this today on Long Island Scanning Resources site. I will quote the poster, N2ERN:

From the AARL website:
"...The FCC has announced that due to "scheduled maintenance", the ULS on-line filing, application and license search and several other non Ameteur Radio - related functions will be unavailable starting Friday November 12, at 9 PM EST until Monday, November 15, 6 AM EST..."

I'm posting this here for those of you who do not access the LISR site.

At the bottom of their primary search page it does have this info:
http://svartifoss2.fcc.gov/reports/index.cfm
FCC General Menu Reports version 2.1.07
Scheduled Outage
Weekend of November 13-14, 2004.
The General Menu Reports application will be unavailable from Friday evening November 12, 9:00 p.m. EST through Monday morning November 15, approximately 8:00AM for computer room maintenance. We apologize for any inconvenience.

If you don't use the search why bother to post ? I posted this information for people who DO use the FCC Database. Your post seems senseless and a waste of bandwidth to me.

You posted the FCC site we all use. It's no different than the one we all use. If you will look at the bottom of that site, you will see "NOTICE" in red letters. Then you will see "Messages regarding the General Menu Reports are now displayed "here". Please check this board for messages regarding the system. If you click on "here" you will see the message.

Why make a big deal out of this anyway. I posted the information. It's on the FCC Database site. It's not a topic that demands discussion. I simply posted it for anyone who may choose to use the database during the down period. :D

By what I have read between the two of you, he wasn't making a
big deal out of it. He just asked a question and didn't notice the
'Notice' on the bottom of the webpage.
This happens from time to time and I myself am guilty of Not seeing everything on webpages too.

But that's only for searching documents (filings, etc.)
You can't do license lookups from the Search Tools page.

And that's Mr. Dimwit to you, young man.

Looks like they will be recalling some amateur radio licenses also as they were issued out of sequence. The ones issued will be good tho until the people get a new call. :p
