Ahh, that would explain why it was down for over 24 hours... the quarterly busy work. When they take it all down for updates, upgrades if applicable, and antivirus/spyware/hack block updates.

I've been on vacation and missed the alerts about the FCC database being down. It should be back up in a few hours this morning. Thanks

Very much appreciated on this long holiday weekend. I had a pretty good band opening last night on VHF, 460Mhz, 800Mhz, and 935Mhz; receiving up to 200 miles away from an antenna 25ft AGL. I hope you enjoyed your vacation, and this holiday weekend.

@blantonl: I don't know if it's related, or a longer-term issue, but some valid FCC licenses don't show up, like WPZM774, which is linked for LAC V-2 on the LA County page. I've come across these occasionally in the past. It's a somewhat odd license in that even though it's a fire channel, it's from a paging auction, market-based (not site-based), and is for a frequency range (152.23-25) instead of the center freq (152.24).

RR only has private land mobile radio site-based licenses.
Some public safety systems have paging or VPC licenses that you can't look up on RR.

That's not entirely true. The RR FCC database includes the 700 MHz SL (Statewide allocation) licenses, which are not site-based.

As far as I know, the CP (Part 22 VHF/UHF Paging) or PC (Public Coast Stations, Auctioned) market based licenses are not imported, however.

It appears the RRDB FCC database is down. It was just working an hour ago or so.

I noticed it was down a couple Sundays ago. Is this going to be a Sunday morning thing, instead of Thursday morning?

Receiving the following error: "The FCC Database is down for maintenance, please try again later." When I check the FCC, they appear to working. Is this a scheduled RR maintenance event?

Off to find some coffee...

Unless it changed recently that happens every Thursday morning when RR downloads data from the FCC web site and updates the license data here on RR.

It's referring to the FCC database on RR and has nothing to do with the FCC web site.

@nd5y - Thanks for the feedback. I didn't realize the RR database goes offline on Thursday mornings for the updates. My recent retirement allows me to play in the shack on weekday mornings, so this is all new to me. 73 de KG2S.
