When the incident commander being a battalion, chief, division chief, or a company officer talks to the dispatch center being Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, the Bronx or Staten Island does their portable radio that they talk on Emmett and MDC 1200 ID?

If it DOES EMIT MDC 1200, you should be able to hear it, right?

Yes. Battalion Chiefs for example have "BC" as the first part of their MDC ID (for the most part). BC03 = Battalion 3.

So the battalion Chief does have MDC as an id on their portable radio when talking to dispatch and when talking on fire ground channel they have tps as an id?

All FDNY portable and mobile radios have MDC-1200 enabled on the analog T-Band channels (and resurrected VHF channels by extension). You can very clearly hear the burst after each transmission.

All portables and mobiles on primary UHF and VHF have MDC1200 Post ID
Tactical Public Safety is used on all Tacs for EFAS usage as well. P25 data with analog voice.
