From the signal strength probably in the MD/Northern VA area rather than located in my area 75 miles NW of the District.

Anyone know if the Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge frequency in the database 162.23750 156.7 PL is still accurate? I was down recently and never heard anything and they were doing burns of the marshlands. I also was scanning the 162-174 mhz but never heard anything.

DF update regarding RF site locations for IWN (BF58A-010).

For site 1701 (CC 170.5), very intensive sniffing indicates that this may be a geographically disparate simulcast site with at least two RF sites. Currently the site is listed as located in Jessup.

Uh, no simulcast. Intersection of US 1 & Montevideo Rd. in Jessup, MD

Interesting traffic today on 163.725, ICE Washington 1- Suffolk, was hearing traffic between an encrypted user and OMAHA helo, I thought the traffic was local, till I heard the helo say they were returning to Dulles Airport, is this the way the Vote-scan works or was the helo actually close to me and returning to Dulles airport?

Vote Scan is only on the RX side [Agents] and the radio selects the strongest tower for reception for them.

What you have is a Wide-Area network using a Common Single Freq input to talk on multiple frequencies/towers over a wide area.

Also with the Helo being so high up, if there was another set of repeaters using the same input he could also be hitting them.

Here in New England we remember many a day where Omaha was on NET-01 (Analog Days) and was tripping about a Dozen NET-01 Repeaters in the NorthEast, NY, NJ, DE etc
