Feds visit

I see in the news that Chelsea Clinton will be in town tomorrow. Also that Sen Obama will be in town on Saturday, and Gov Romney will be in town for President Hinkley's Funeral. That means a lot of Secret Service activity, as well as special protection details. I will be monitoring the Fed trunk system at the Fed building, as well as searching the 162~173 Mhz band. Most of the comms may be coded, but some will not. I was going to post some of the freqs I've heard during past visits, but I left my list at work so it will have to wait till morning. If you have search capabilities, this week/weekend will be the time to use them.

These are freqs that I received hits on during the last VIP visit to our lovely valley. I just took a look at the NOTAMs, and there are none (currrently) for this area.

What system are you talking about?

It is part of the Hill AFB trunk system. Sys ID is 6227. There are four sites. Site 01 is at HAFB. Site two I'm prety sure is out at the UT&TR (Utah Test and Training Range) or Tooele. Site three I do not know. And site 04 is located at the Federal Building, downtown SLC. Its mainly used by the UANG at the SL Airport. There are some other users, that I have not ID'ed yet. You will not find it listed in the RR database. A request was made long ago to have the info removed.

I did not hear anything new or unusual on the Fed bands during the day C Clinton was in town. I was at the Conference Center today and did not see/hear anything other than the press that was there.
