What We Do Know Is That A Life Was Lost And Another Is Hanging On In Critical Condition, There Is Not Much You Can Do No Matter What Shape Your Rig Is In, When A Suv Traveling At 80 Mph Hit Your Fire Truck Going 45 Mph.
Motorist Just Dont Have Respect For Emergency Vehicles, Every Run We Go On There Are Near Misses With Civilian Autos, Its Like Beat The Train To The Crossing, The Rigs Just Dont Stop Like Cars, Also People Try To Drive Around Us As We Try To Back Into Quarters. Lets All Say A Prayer For Lt Walter Grysko To Pull Through, And Let The Investigation Take Its Course Before We Reach Judgement
You are SO RIGHT ABOUT MOTORISTS NOT HAVING RESPECT FOR EMERGENCY VECHICLES!! I find that even down here in semi rural Southwest Michigan that I am always the first person that stops for Emergency Vechicles and sometimes the only person.
It a practice I learned from my late Father, who was a Niles City Firemen from 1956 to 1981!
