I had my pro-163 on in the garage Monday when someone 4 doors down called on me. When the police showed up we were sitting in the garage smoking and relaxing, of course the amount of debris that we were unable to clean up in the 6 minutes before they showed up still proved us guilty and earned us our 'warning'

I heard one of the sheriff dept dispatchers list off all the complaints they had received, in Ypsilanti Twp, for the past X minutes, listing by block and street. Basically, it was pick a neighborhood, and someone was complaining.

Fireworks are illegal to use by private citizens in my state (PA), but you would never know it! They start at 8:30 in every direction, but thankfully are finished by 11:00.

In Michigan they are now completely legal for the first time. As long as you are shooting them from your own property, and not pointing them in anyone's direction, there is nothing that can be done.

Except take comfort in the fact that even though your neighbor might burn his house down (or yours), that the State of Michigan is now getting all that tax revenue from fireworks sales that went to Indiana when they were "illegal". :p

That is not at all unusual around my area (western Chicago suburbs). Not only on the 4th but on the days leading up to it and after it also. The police don't really enforce it any more, but they respond and tell the people to quiet down a little.

Fireworks are part of the 4th of July celebration!

True, there are those that burn down buildings, homes, garages, or blow off their thumb (that happened yesterday over in the Bay Area, (Tampa, St.Pete.). That's because they are not careful or being responsible. I set off a few crackers last night and that was the end of it. But I enjoy watching some of the neighbors around us. They spend big dollars for mortors, air bursts, you name it and it looks cool. The kids, adults, all like the shows that they put on for us. And not the first building harmed, or anyone injured. And it is illegal in the state of Florida to set these fireworks off. But the local law have more unlawful things that they are concerned with, DUI, robberies, etc.

I don't mind the fireworks. I just don't wanna hear them at 1-2 in the morning. Even if they're legal, at that hour you're disturbing the peace. Every year, there is always one idiot that is blowing them off at 2 AM. How inconsiderate!

Not meaning to be off topic but, besides the few annoyances after the 4th, there's a bigger and sometimes little known problem that lies in with the people who maybe have a few "roman candles" or "starbursts" left over so they decide to save them til next year then they forget they have them!
Well, HOW LONG they save them after the expiration date is a problem, especially if they sit forgotten!
Responding to a call of a traumatic injury, only to find remnants of a hand or foot due to moving a shoebox containing left over M-80's as the cause is pretty ugly! :(

Wondering what you were given a warning for?

Reminds me of when I lived within sight of an apartment building. A certain apartment always had a BIG display every 4th. Well the apartments caught fire (someone grilling on a balcony) and you could tell when the fire got to that apartment. It was like the 4th of July... in October..... Firemen ducking for cover....

It is illegal to shoot fireworks in the city of Olive Branch. I can take them out to the county, but then my county, along with many others, have a burn ban, that covers fireworks as well. I asked him why they sell them in the city if I can't shoot them in the city, and don't they think that'd it'd be a good idea to put a sign up in the tents informing everyone of such, he said that the tents make that decision. So my city gets all the tax revenue so that no one can shoot them...

I'm more interested in by the note that with three departments responding they only had about a dozen firefighters show up?
