I purchased it on 12/3/24.
I’m still working with HRO on the topic.
Then your repair is under warranty unless it was damaged, dropped etc. , just shipping it will cost money. 90 days from once the repair is done you have a warranty on the repair(s). Something is wrong with it, no one here has had the same experience.

The solder joint on the right, is that loop of wire sticking up past the plastic? I looked on a you tube and the solder joints just look like rounded joints no wire sticking up.

hopefully these images (using zoom) can shed some light to the issue.

Sounds like the BMS is turning the radio off/disabling the SDR and powering it down and back up resets it.

I'm everywhere Focker!
Obviously I have no idea, but I highly suspect the issue has absolutely nothing to do with the unit being powered by the battery or via USB.

You basically have 2 choices, 1) Send it in for warranty repair or 2) Do some quality troubleshooting to isolate the cause and probably still send it in for warranty repair.

Check your System Hold setting: Manage favorites/Edit Sys Option/Set Hold time/ the default is 0 this is much too fast, set to 2 which is what I use,1 may work as well, you might want experiment. I hope this works for you!

A quick scan of the thread hasn’t shown anyone suggesting formatting the SD card… I may have missed it if it was suggested but…

It may be that the scanner is acting up when the battery is discharged to a specific voltage. If it shows the same voltage level each and every time it stops scanning, then there's probably a real issue that you aren't equipped to handle. You could check this by checking the battery's voltage level every time it stops scanning. I think* pressing the scroll control will display a numeric voltage reading in the upper right-hand corner of the display. If you can't see it, check the color settings to be sure the color of the numbers aren't the same as the background color.

In any event you likely have an issue that isn't related to settings. So regardless of what you find, you're probably gonna have to bite the bullet, and send it back for repair or replacement.

Good luck!

(* Note: I don't own this scanner, I got the info about checking the battery level from: Easier to Read SDS100/200 Digital Scanner Manual)

The HRO rep I have dealt with most of the time of my near 20 year time dealing with the company said he did a factory reset, (not clear info via menu), and the scanner has gone over 4 hours straight and hasn’t shut up for 5 seconds the whole time with no dropped reception.

I’m happy it wasn’t anything defective.

I am also wondering if my Hard Leather Case or something in the latest firmware that isn’t agreeing with the scanner?
