What is the last firmware update for the 396t?
Where can I find it?
Is Uniden still supporting the 396t with future updates?

Thanks for your help!

The most recent update for the 396T was to 3.02.02, issued in June of last year. That can be found here.

I would doubt it being it is an out of production model.
Uniden will never confirm if there was anything planned either. That's pretty much company policy which you can figure out after you read through UPMan's posts here when others have asked similar questions.
Then again, I think the last FW update for the T model was released after the XT model came on the market. So I guess it is not totally out of the question but I would not hold my breath!

What is it that you were hoping for in a FW update?

My 996T still outperforms my 996XT on simulcast P25 sites due to being able to manually tune the P25 levels for each site.

The latest FW for the 996XT did brring back some manual P25 tuning but nothing like the 996T offered plus it is radio wide and not per site.

Thanks for the advice.

I was hoping that Uniden would support their products as it took a while to save up
almost $500 to purchase the 396t.

I will do more research next time on company support and updates before I spend
any more on a new scanner. This forum is a great resource.

I understand that Uniden can't support a product forever. But.....................
I will now look at all my options, not just Uniden.

As a points of reference regarding support:

1) Regarding Uniden supporting their products, note the number of posts I've made...99% are product support related.
2) Note that we released firmware updates for the BC296D and BC796D about 6 years after they were discontinued.
3) I am not aware of any outstanding bug reports for the BCD396T that would result in the need for a firmware update.

Uniden has, does, and will continue to support the BCD396T for as long as is practical.

+1

I'd like to add that I continue to purchase and use Uniden scanner products because I agree 100% with UPMan's comments. In my humble opinion, no other scanner manufacturer provides any better product support than Uniden, and Uniden surpasses most other electronic device manufacturers. Compared to other electronic devices, Uniden scanners are supported far longer than most products. Just try to get product support from an OEM of a 6 year old a computer, cell phone, or digital camera and see how far you get. When you look at all the options, I believe you'll find that no other manufacturer is willing to support their products any better or any longer than Uniden.
