If it goes offline every evening and every weekend, then I think that feed should be looked into...

"A computer with a sound card dedicated to providing an audio feed that can remain online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, preferably on an uninterruptible power supply (UPS)."
Becoming a Feed Provider - The RadioReference Wiki

The OP's attitude may be a little...brash. But he's got a point.

I like what I'm seeing everybody complaining that they do it for FREE seems to me some of you use that is a cop out if you don't like doing it for free then why did you sign up to do it I would think if there no money involved what's the REASON did you forget the how to become a provider were it's says MUST BE ABLE TO HAVE A 24-7 FEED?if it's a problem about not getting payed to be a provider then SIGN OUT

Even Radio Reference isn't up 24/7/365. And no we don't get paid. I'm sure if the guy has issues with equipment he is working on it. I for one have a job and a life and sometimes I don't have time to fix issues that may come up. Basically, it is what it is.

Since providing intelligent and constructive feedback to zzzaaa's "complaint" seems futile, I'll just comment on how horrible the grammar and spelling are, and congratulate everyone who stuck with it to try making sense of his rantings.

It's like complaining about your neighbor's WIFI. Why don't you just get your own? Complaining about free internet things, on the internet. Don't expect much

Being down from 5PM to 6AM and on the weekends indicates that this is being fed from someone's office. When they go home, the feed is possibly turned off. Send a message to the feed provider and ask if this is the case. If so, then you know.

My thought, too, Charlie!

are you not the entitled one DEMANDING something for nothing?

If you aren't happy with something you aren't paying for, then pay for your own scanner ($400-600) and you can listen whenever you please.

Thanks the entitlement mentality like yours, I did exactly that. I got tired of feces pieces like this after spending hundreds of dollars of MY money on radios, and giving away MY internet bandwidth (which is capped BTW) and using MY electricity (which isn't free and YOU don't pay a dime for).

zzzaa, why don't your write Obama and ask for an Obamascanner because "every American should have a right to free access to scanner feeds".

Meanwhile, get your own and STFU if you don't like what is offered for free.

Jeez the nerve of some people.

RR really really needs to add a like button...

OK the "Obamascanner" reference is hilarious. However, Like I said in a post on another thread, I don't think some people understand the concept of what they are hearing. They download an app, push a button, and they are hearing the local PD. They just don't realize that these feeds are fed by volunteers using there own equipment.

I wonder how many realize that feeds are connected via RR, and not PFM to their phones.

There's an advantage to being a Gen x'er. We have had the opportunity to see wireless and internet technology evolve, not just wake up and it's there like this generation. You have a good point. To some, i'm sure, the internet is simply stored in the phone. ;)

And he's gone. He's deactivated his account and I assume he won't be coming back.

Not much point in leaving this thread open.
