Flathead County Visit Winter 2011

Folks,

I'm back at my place for the winter break 2011. But the lack of snow out here in the Flathead is almost scary and really a bummer. We've only have about a foot and a half up here at our place on Big Mountain. Ugh..

Does anyone know of any significant changes to communications in the Flathead Valley over the past year?

I did catch what might possibly be a new ID? for Kalispell EMS Dispatch 4969. Based on the address and call disposition (heart problems to an address in Kalispell) I'm thinking it was an EMS dispatch channel for Kalispell EMS. Does anyone know and can confirm if Kalispell EMS is dispatched separately on the Montana state system?

As far as I know kalispell fire is only dept. on new system. Rural FD are not yet I hear we maybe going too soon but don't know for sure. That talk group I haven't seen I'll try and put it in my radio an see. Was wondering if u can hear other agencies around Montana on the Systen at ur place. I mean like Bozeman pd. lewis and Clark county so, fIre, or EMS. I'm trying to figure out how to program talk groups into bk radio. And actually get that talk group instead of all of them in flathead

I rarely get any outside agencies on the statewide system in the flathead valley. It looks like 4969 and 4967 are EMS station alerts (for each station).

I'm not sure what a "bk" radio is however if you don't have permission to program a P25 trunking radio on the system then you won't be able to.

BK = Bendix King. EMTBLS, the BK P25 radios are commercial transceivers designed for authorized users of the TRS. Using one for monitoring purposes could be detrimental to the system, and the system administrator will be able to kill your radio remotely, turning it into a worthless brick.

I'll get ahold of county. I am a volunteer. Fire fighter and an authorized to use system when we switch over. Just trying to program these since the county doesnt Have programing or equip for it. I'm trying to save dept. $$ so dont have to send them out of stat to be programed. Right now I'm just looking at that is till I hear from them how to program It So I hear just that talk group on a channel instead of all. Of them. I went in programmed recieve channel and then when says ID on channels put in 4975 or whatever so is and it picks up all kfd, KPD, so, and on that Chanel want just SO. Wonder if I have I have nac code for bk. which I don't know
