The Pontypool tower has flipped to the alternate control channel, since 5 pm, and there is no voice traffic. Also the Whitby tower has had its signal reduced. Its not coming in at full strength as it usually does.

Back to the normal control channel, but still no voice traffic at 9 pm.

At 1:30 or so today I was having an intermittent signal on the Whitby tower - no data coming through it seemed, didn't hear anything when I held on it. Not a scanner or antenna issue because I can hear Pontypool (albeit, not the best since i'm scanning mobile from my car in Oshawa, but it's there). Alternate control channel didn't seem to be going either.

Hi , I am in Brooklin Ontario, I have a new SDS100, I am not receiving anything. I used RadioReference and Sentinel with a 20 mile range, L1M location. Am I in a dead spot?

If you are using the antenna that came with the SDS100 and are indoors you would likely have rough reception. You should be able to receive the Whitby site for FleetNet.

Have you enabled the Service Types you want as well?

I am using the supplied antenna and am inside. I do get Whitby tower but it’s not as busy as I thought it would be. Guess I will play some more. Thanks

There is usually a decent amount of traffic on it. You should be hearing Durham EMS fairly non-stop (they rarely aren't transmitting anything), OPP, MTO. If you are scanning by location it might be scanning a LOT of stuff, considering you set it to 20 Mi. This might end up with you hearing a lot less due to it constantly searching elsewhere.
