Hi, I have a silly question for ya'll. What do the fleetnet towers look like? Are they just standard looking towers, or do they have a different appearance?

Fleetnet towers look like regular towers. There's really nothing that you could use to distinguish them from other towers.

Not really a silly question. Maybe it's more a case of what kind of antennas might be indicative of a Fleetnet tower. I could almost always tell an old system OPP tower by the folded dipole array, in most cases eight sets of dipoles alternating at right angles, stacked one over the other. One exception was a Toronto site near the 401 that had eight dipoles on the same side of the mast (offset pattern I think).

Is there a distinctive type of antenna for Fleetnet sites?

Well if by chance you find your way up and around Orangeville/Shelburne you can see the Primrose tower up the hill to the right of the intersection of Hwy 10 and I think 89 (or is it Hwy 9).

The SRL-235-2 antennas that Dave is referring to have been changed out at a lot of sites. They've been replaced with 2 210-C4's (or were they C2's?) which can handle a lot higher power.

The Cedarwoods site is on the high rise apartment buildings right behind Fairview Park Mall in Kitchener, the street it is on is called Cedarwoods.
