Hello friends and members. I need help reprograming my Trunk Pro 106. I move from Clearwater Florida to Floresville Texas. I really need your help setting up my trunk scanner. My email address is eugene_smalls@yahoo.com
It would be a very big blessing to me if I can get my scanner to work again. I forgot the steps how to put in the Freqs.
Thank you for any who can reach out to me. God bless you all.

As Phoboss1, most of the public safety agencies in your county (Wilson) have started using the LCRA system. Notes on the county's database page indicate that while there is still occasional traffic on the Vhf channels, the trunked system is used most of the time.

All of the talkgroups for your county, as well as most of them for two of your neighboring counties (Gonzales & Guadalupe) are using P25 Phase II talkgroups. You could program the Vhf channels in your Pro-106, in hoes that you'll occasionally hear 'something', but that might not be very informative. If you have programming software, such as Win500 or PSREdit 500, it would be easy to create a programming file for that.

For P25 Phase II, the scanners that can handle that type of talkgroups are:
Whistler TRX-1 & TRX-2
Discontinued - PSR 800 & Pro-668 if they have the upgraded firmware or the Whistler upgrade
WS1080, WS1088, WS1095, WS1098

Uniden:
BCD436HP, BCD536HP, BCD325P2. BCD996P2, HP-2, SDS100 & SDS200

Yep, Wilson county is 100% Phase 2 when using LCRA. I still see 155.550 and 155.6625 pop up when I go through there but there is a lot of traffic being missed if that’s all you can hear. I would recommend looking into one of the scanners Hiegtx listed somewhere online, good used condition or new if you can spring for it.
Now being so close to San Antonio, keep in mind if you plan on being mobile with your scanner in Bexar County any, nothing but the SDS100/200 will work very well within Bexar County due to simulcast, and those are the most expensive but also the most complete units you can buy.
If you are planning on staying home more often and listening from home, and you don’t want to spend big money, there are several good programs to choose from to use a Software Defined Radio (SDR) on your computer. They are generally about $30-40 for a full set up and can track and monitor and even record audio for P25 Phase 2 with ease. Much cheaper but reliant on a computer.
