I haven't been hearing the Bunnell District morning radio checks on 159.45 for about a week now. It's not my equipment, I'm about 4 miles for the St. Johns tower. Have they gone to LTE? Georgia Forestry went to that last year. Seems strange as they just finished getting everybody on P25.

No, they are not going LTE in Florida. May be site issues.

Google is your friend. The state has done some redistricting, St Johns and Flagler are now in the Jacksonville District, 159.240 and Volusia is in the Orlando District 159.270. There are some more changes I'll research that later.

I was in Jax area today and heard ch 74 (TG 74) than disp said SJC and Flagler on standby for a update. I didn't catch the SJC or Flagler ch number since the other freq is out of range. I'm guessing tg 79 is talkaround?

For the few days there has been a considerably large brush fire in west Dade County west of the Florida's Turnpike. The fire has had resources from FL Division of Forestry as well as Broward Air Rescue 85 assisting with bambi bucket ops with Dade's air rescue.

I have been hearing communications on MDFR Tac 4 with the Dade & Broward Units. But nothing from FLDOF and today according to ADSB there has been 2 H60's from I am assuming the Florida National Guard assisting.

Any ideas where the air-air coordination may be? I monitored the usual HELI UNICOM frequency (123.025) here with no luck.

I think Forestry operates extensive repeaters and simplex in the VHF range, possibly 162 MHz etc...

FYI, there's a line of storms blowing up over the Everglades that I hope will drift east far enough to douse these fires.

I have been monitoring the UHF Tac 4 frequency, which has been enjoyable.

There are a few frequencies being used on this incident:

• Air-to-air coordination: 122.925 MHz, commonly referred to as Air Attack 1.
• Florida Forest Service: 154.280 MHz (PL 156.7), known as Fire White, and 159.390 MHz (DCS 0B4), which is D18 Dispatch.

I’d also recommend programming the Air-to-Ground frequencies assigned to the Everglades area. At least one of those channels is usually active during operations. National Incident Radio Support Cache - The RadioReference Wiki

Finally, I’ve heard several Florida Forest Service tactical channels used during previous wildland fire incidents. FL Forest Service (Florida) Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference

Regarding the D18 Forestry Dispatch frequency on my post above, it should be NAC 0B4 not DCS.

Hello all. I am not picking up the Lakeland, Myakka, and Withlacooche P25 frequencies on my SDS100, even using my outdoor Diamond D130 outdorr antenna. These come in with no problem on my TRX - 1 using the stock antenna. Any thoughts?

You'll need to make sure the Fire-Tac service type is turned on (tag column below). It is not enabled by default out of the box on the SDS100. The TRX-1 doesn't discriminate traffic by service type like the Unidens do which is likely why you're hearing traffic on the TRX
