My old DSD ver 1.101 works fine but I've hit a wall trying to get plus working. I'm using a RTL- 2832 dongle
Downloaded a new copy of Plus. Ran 1r.bat to start and next FMPx-24 cc.bat. program starts I see the spectrum
monitor. But plus always reports a " FMPx link error -5. Can't get past this What gives?

If you downloaded the new free Public Release version of Fast Lane from the website:

1. download / unarchive the entire contents to a new directory with nothing in it
- good options are c:\dsdplus or c:\dsdpluspublic or c:\users\<username>\desktop\desplus

2. Run FMP24-CC.bat and 1R.bat

You should not have to do anything else. Don't edit any batch files or anything. Just run the two batch files mentioned in step #2.

You ran FMP24-VC ?
Thanks guys. I installed the public download in a new directory. Ran the 1R bat along with FMP24-CC. Still no link to my dongle. it's an RTL-2832. Next I tried 1r bat along with FMP24-VC. Still no good Finally Ran 1r bat with the FMP-24 application file. The dongle spectrum came up but still got an link error -5 from DSD. Next I shut off windows defender fire wall to see if this worked. No good Finally deleted the DSD-Plus directory power down the computer, powered back up and installed a new copy of DSD. Same results. I intermittently get a prompt on start up that the dongle is in use when starting FMP24-CC. I'm wondering if I should try to do an install on a completely different PC?

try editing your FMP24 to this. The no link indicates the DSD program is looking for a different device ID. Change the freq to what you want.

start FMP24 -o7654 -f855.5625 -b12.5 -g42.9
timeout /t 6
call dsdplus -i7654 -v3 -O NUL

Here's the text of 1R . bat,
DSDPlus -r1 -i20001 >>1rlog.txt

The text of FMP24-cc has the following text.

FMP24 -rc -i1 -o20001 -p0.0 -f935.0

Still no luck It seems these files won't link up. I occasionally get a prompt that the sdr is already in use. But no other program is running.

Next I shut off windows defender fire wall to see if this worked.
Do you have any other firewall/antivirus software?

Was Zadig originally used on the dongle?

I intermittently get a prompt on start up that the dongle is in use when starting FMP24-CC
How often?

Can you post the contents of the cmd screens for Fmp24 and DSDplus, like what referenced above in post 7?

Screenshots. Screenshots. When this behavior is being exhibited, provide screenshots of the FMP24-CC command window and DSDPlus command window (ya know, what look to be DOS prompt windows). You simply aren't providing useful information for anyone to help you.

Use a pristine download (where you haven't edited ANYTHING). Run FMP24-CC.bat and 1R.bat. Take screenshots and attach them to a reply.

Your DSDPlus cannot communicate with your FMP24 because either you edited batch files and it's trying to connect to the wrong device, or because your device cannot be found and FMP24 won't stay running.

I'd recommend that you redo Zadig (I run it with admin privileges) using the instructions below:

Here's the code of 1r bat.

DSDPlus -r1 -i20001 >>1R-log.txt

Here's the code of FMP-cc

FMP24 -rc -i1 -o20001 -P0.0 -f935.0

As far as deleting the old copy and directory, been there and done that along with running the files as administrator.

Does your FMP24 come up, stay on the screen, and look like similar to this?

1769953907640.png

What version of Windows are you running? Never had to run any DSDPlus files as an administrator.

Next I shut off windows defender fire wall to see if this worked.
Do you have any other firewall/antivirus software?
Do you have any additional antivirus/firewall software on the PC?

1. download / unarchive the entire contents to a new directory with nothing in it
- good options are c:\dsdplus or c:\dsdpluspublic or c:\users\<username>\desktop\desplus

I installed the public download in a new directory

Finally deleted the DSD-Plus directory power down the computer, powered back up and installed a new copy of DSD.

Did you follow the directory location advise @mtindor posted? Where is the new directory located? Don't see any mention of where you installed it.

Start FMP24-CC.bat (and only FMP24-CC.bat). Take a screenshot of the command prompt (black window) after you have run FMP24-CC.bat. Allow us to see precisely what is being reported.

Asked in posts 7, 10 and 13. Can you post the screenshots?
