Traveling on I95 what are the best sites for the Fort Liberty trunked system?

Keep in mind, the change has begun to move this system onto the US Army CONUS Enterprise Land Mobile Radio Network (ACE LMR) and many current sites have gone quiet. It appears the control channels are remaining the same but system ID and WACN are changing.

If you look at the database and click on the sites you will see an approximate coverage area for each site, which should give you a good idea.

We were able to listen on our handhelds up until today, now everything has gone quiet. Could you walk me through what I need to do to update my Uniden BCD996P2. I only want to listen to PMO Main Dispatch but need it to scan all available towers when we are traveling. The guy that we had to program our scanners has moved and I am on the struggle bus. I don't know if I can use the FreeScan software(I tried and signed in to RR and import the channels and such and downloaded to scanner) and we still have silence. I have the DEC, HEX and Mode, just have no idea how to get the frequencies in for the towers and then add the PMO main dispatch as a group. WE aren't interested in scanning the entire bases channels, just need the dispatch, as we work hand in hand with the PMO to get traffic accidents and love to have the heads up on where we are going and what we are facing. The dispatchers have come to rely on us knowing what is going on....

@beacontowing I do not have that scanner and am not familiar with the programming. Maybe @tvengr will see this and be able to help you add the new system.

He does a good job helping people with programming issues.

Thank you! So, the current issue that I am having is it says "finding control channel" and the program I am using the ARC-XTPro and it is importing everything directly from RR. Any suggestions for that issue, while we wait for @tvengr

It should let you select or deselect individual sites, but as I said I do not know that program.

A trip to the Spring Lake area today, and monitoring two of the sites with DSD+FL showed me that almost all the TGs (which start with 14xxx, while the RIDs start with 240xxxx) on the new system are encrypted. The only TG heard in the clear was a one-sided fire dispatch.

The encryption would account for the lack of audio being heard.

It also appears they are using MDTs or some other form of encrypted packet data over the radios, as shown below:

Arrgh...here's hoping Pineland's sketchy reception patterns discourage this spreading beyond the base somehow......

I know, I know.
