With a sub optimum setup, a quick check showed 386.400 NAC 984 and 386.2125 NAC 986, as control channels. 386.0375 is registering but won't lock-on, which is normal from around here. So signal strength/characteristics for sites 4, 6, and 7 appear to be the same as they have been in my area, just operating within a new system.
Manually running thru the 385-390 range for a couple of hours showed no activity. I imagine, with small exceptions, that will be the case, as it was under the old 3CF system, until there are rumblings of the next uprising of the Lovers of the Longleaf. That's when the western sites prove their usefulness.
Hopefully I'll have reprogrammed all my dadburn scanners by the time that occurs again, to track the system in the more fancy way, via trunking.
And since I am such a swell guy, I am going to go up to my fave high elevation, super secret eavesdropping location here in a few minutes, where in the past I have been able to pick up sites 2 and 4-7 cleanly and see what else I can sniff out. From the looks of it I doubt I will be of much assistance beyond just confirming what is so far already known and reported, but time we will see.
Oh and side note, 173.4875 reception with a new NAC of 272 today which is new to me (and the commonly used $444 as well), full time encryption as always, emanating out of KVUJ, ANG ops of some variety today. 306.900 was used by EPIC61 today as well, a long-time no-hear freq, which was the KVUJ App/Con freq when they were regularly running the radar setup. So those are still in rotation at least.
