I travel up to Fort Payne usually once a year. I just found a P25 license for a trunked system there and was wondering if anyone knew if it was in use yet. The license is 2 years old and I know last year when I was there the PD was still using analog VHF. Anyhow, here is a link to the license

It appears the Police Department is still using their VHF frequencies in the clear but I found them on TGRP 47010. The base is in the clear but the cars are encrypted. The Fire Department is the same as the PD and I found them on TGRP 47009

TGRP 47003 appears to be traffic for Fire/Rescue. Have not heard any traffic recently on TGRP 47009
It looks like Fort Payne made the switch over to the P25 a couple days ago on 1 July 2026. No traffic on the analog frequency. Dispatch (P25) is in the clear but the mobile units are garbled (encrypted?)
What tower/ site, any idea?

Found DeKalb County SO on TGRP 47027 and as of today both base and units are in the clear
As evidenced by the Sys ID/WACN and Talkgroup range, this site is part of AIRS. Not a standalone system as was recently submitted to the database.
Can someone get a valid RFSS and Site ID for this new site? Should be RFSS (4) given the Talkgroup IDs in use.

Are you the guy running the SDS200 on Dekalb County, Rainsville, Henagar ..etc. on Broadcastiify? I am from Fort Payne and live on Lookout, but I work in Cincinnati. I listen to DeKalb up here in Cincinnati on Scanner Pro broadcastify and also, I have a private system that has 5 scanners on a non-scanner broadcast system. Fort Payne PD and FD are gone on both systems that I listen to. I am still waiting to go home to program my scanners in August on BCD536's, it would be nice if someone would keep posting updates here because " Radio Reference" has only updated the frequencies, not the id's yet. I got a few here on this Forum. The SDS200 that is broadcasting online under "Dekalb County Law Enforcement" is able to listen to Fort Payne P25II, but it is still silent on Fort Payne VHF. That SDS200 is also capable of auto programming what comes up on the 800 frequencies that are nearby and logging the id's as long as they are not scrambled.

I have built a favorite, (Dekalb-Fort Payne P2) but this Forum, will not let me upload here. I added (Pea Ridge) as #2 tower frequencies on this favorite's; I can always change the name later, but I suspect this will be the next north end of county location. Here is my email address (kf4fevlive@yahoo.com) if you would like to test it for me, I will email it to you. It has 4 color flashes, Red, (Fort Payne fire) Blue, (Fort Payne PD) Green, DeKalb Sherriff, Yellow Extras. The unknowns will flash fast with alerts, and knowns will stay lighted, no alerts. The South End of Dekalb will I think be covered by Marshall County Simulcast = Crossville and Geradine when the time comes. My Radio is BCD536 x2 units and one BCD436 + one Home Patrol 2. I have never programed a SDS200 but coming soon, I hope.
