My nephew who lives in Framingham wants one of my old scanners. I want to program it for him but wanted to confirm if the PD is still using UHF radio system or show I program something different. Thanks,

Great question for the people in the Massachusetts forum rather than general scanning where people from other states can only look at the database.

Yes, Framingham PD and FD are still T-Band and (for now) Analog, however much of the region is migrating to P25 (Not Trunked) so plan ahead would be my advice

Natick & Framingham are forming a regional dispatch / "REC" as they are known by. I would only assume that some point in the near term that you will see Framingham follow Natick's path of a digital migration for PD.

Most (not all) of the RECC's formed still keep each Agency on their original frequencies/channels.

Not what I was implying - but in general the RECC formation usually means some sort of technology change to support the different agencies existing infrastructure being brought into a new facility. If existing equipment is end of life or close to end of life there is a significant chance of replacement to accomplish those goals. That replacement could mean a change to digital as part of that equipment upgrade. I wasn't suggesting or implying that Framingham & Natick are merging their channels by going to combined dispatch. That being said there are numerous ways to evaluate use of resources and anything can happen - including merging of channels. No one will know until after it's done short of any information made public by the departments/RECC prior to the change over.
