Does anybody know the communications plan for the Franklin fire in Malibu? I've been monitoring LAC V1 and heard heard a lot of traffic but nothing no other frequencies.

Most of the other frequencies are "direct", meaning they are not going through a repeater, so unless you are fairly close, you probably won't hear anything. The LACoFD air to air frequency 130.700 AM has been active.

Kern County sent a Type 3 Strike Team down this morning. We had already sent a dozer Strike Team and two hand crews.

Just for other people's information a dozer strike team consists of two dozers, their dozer transports and two dozer tenders (mechanic and fuel) who use a small truck with a contractor's box. A strike team of crews consists of two crews, crew transports, crew superintendents with small trucks and a contractor's box, plus a crew strike team leader with separate transportation. County crews (non inmate) and state/county inmate crews tend to vary a little from this.

Hello all. I am new to these forums. I manage a large property in Malibu and was unable to hear LA County fire on my SDS100 and 200. Is this something as simple as updating the firmware?
