As of right now the sites google com appears to have been migrated - where to I have no idea. I get a page not found when I try to use the link the the dma software support article, and it seems sixspotsoftware is also gone.
FreeSCAN has been abandonware for many many years now; the original author of the program has long since indicated he has no plans to publish any future releases. I am merely hosting the original source code and installers on my GitHub profile, as any original links hosting the app for download are likely to disappear as the years go on.
I would be very surprised to see FreeSCAN revived at this point - it’s written in a language that is unpopular with developers (VisualBasic), and the code quality is overall very poor. I attempted to complete an in-progress release the previous author and it was just too difficult. If anyone wants to re-write this app in C# and target a newer .NET framework to support macOS and *nix, that would be awesome…I just don’t see it happening. ProScan is far ahead of FreeSCAN at this point, and is actively supported here by the developer.
