I am new here and I was looking for the frequencies for Fremont County.
I see the talk group but how do I get the frequency for my area?

Thank you for your time.

You'll need to go back to the database and find the control channels for the sites closest to you. For Fremont County you'll want the site in Canon City (site 158), the San Carlos Correctional Facility (site 139), Cheyenne Mtn (site 148), Deer Peak (site 151) to start with.
I'm assuming you have a digital trunking scanner.

Fremont County uses the state's DTRS system so you will program in the local control channels (to act as your frequencies) and then talk groups for the agencies you wish to monitor.

What type of scanner are you using and welcome to the list.

Ok all,

I am new to this scanner stuff all I had to do is change Channels to talk to dispatch and then to tac 2 to talk car to car.

And yes I have the new Radio Shack Pro 2096 and I just would like to hear my local area police and sheriff fire is still on VHF and I know how to work the old scanners but not the new ones sorry.

Any help would be good for this old time :s

Ok, I don't want to be a smart-ass, but seriously, you need to read your manual and learn how to program it for a trunked, digital system.
There is also software available to help you program it Win96 is HIGHLY recommended, but you will need to acquire a programming cable to work with the software.

DJ; Win96 would be your best software and that is available as a download from Don Starr's site. Then of course you will need a programming cable as well.

Fremont County is beginning to test on DTRS also, along with Canon City, DOC and of course CSP/CDOT.

Fair enough. The scanner is a PITA to program without software and the appropriate cable. You'll have to excuse me, but some people don't believe in "RTFM" before asking "how to" questions.
The sites I mentioned are the ones that will most cover Fremont County (I hear a LOT of Fremont County SO traffic on the Cheyenne Mtn site). Program just the control channels for those sites and then the Talk Groups you want to listen to and you should be good.
I can't recommend the software highly enough.

Hello all,

And think you Bob I have my scanner working but I still can't find the right frequency's for my area of Fremont County.

Is there something I am missing on using this site or are they just not listed?

Thank you for your time.

What control channels are you using? Assuming when you say your area you mean Canon City?

Assuming you also have the VHF freqs programmed in also? Did you end up using win96 software to program the scanner; if so send me the file.

Thanks Jim<

RadioShack does not sell any software that will program the Pro-2096. However, we do sell the USB programming cable that one needs to program the scanner via the computer. In the package comes a CD. This CD only has the USB drivers on it, no programming software.

DJ Raven, please take a look at this link, it should help you program your scanner.

Thanks Erik. Has this been going on for awhile? Also in your opinion, how does it stack up to scan lite, or win96?

Charles, I am totally lost! In your reply to my answer, you asked me what my opinion was vs scanlite or Win96. This makes no sense! I stated twice in my answer to your question that RadioShack DOES NOT SELL SOFTWARE. Did you not read my reply?

:) good to know I can get you lost still. The way I read the OP is that he was using that cord and the software that cam with it to program his pro 96. He has said nothing about using a program like Win96 or Scan lite. So I too am confused, you said the CD only has the drivers. But any who their are much bigger things going on in the radio world other then me not understanding this. Thanks Erik for trying to explain this to me.
