New Frequency for Lutheran Air/Lutheran Center

Just to be complete,

460.500 MHz (also in the database)

You may also hear them call the FWA tower on 119.100 MHz.

Thanks to those who pointed this out to me. Lutheran Center (which is actually AMR/TRAA dispatch at Hayden & Brackenridge) also dispatches the Lutheran Hospital MICUs on this frequency. You can also hear Lutheran Security announcing takeoffs/landings on 464.675 MHz (also in the database).

By the way, did anyone else notice that the tail number has changed? It used to be N312LS, now it's N504LH. The records for the previous tail number are not readily available now. As far as I know, it's not a new helo. I'm pretty sure I know the reason why the tail # was changed, but I'd rather not post it here.

Take care,

The Lutheran Hospital up there in Fort Wayne, is it associated with the Seminary by any chance?

I don't think it's affiliated with Concordia Seminary, other than it's in the same faith group. Lutheran Health Network is a privately owned company (IOM Healthsystem, LP).

I'm not sure if it's still affiliated with Quorum or Triad as it once was. Prior to the purchase of Lutheran Hospital, it was a not-for-profit organization, like Parkview. I believe the Lutheran church had some control over the hospital then, just as the Catholic church had some control over St. Joseph hospital prior to the purchase.

Lutheran School of Nursing was transfered to St. Francis University School of Nursing. I had friends who were students at Lutheran School of Nursing who had to finish their schooling at St. Francis.

Lutheran Health Network (IOM) has purchased several outlying hospitals as well, such as Dukes Memorial Hospital in Peru, and Bluffton Regional Medical Center.

Take care,

Lutheran Hospital is part of the Lutheran Health Network. Lutheran, St. Joe, Dupont, Dukes, Rehab Hospital of Fort Wayne, RediMed, Bluffton Regional and Kosciusko Community Hospital. Also affiliated in the networks somehow are the StatCares.

Lutheran and all the others are owned by Triad Hospitals, Inc. out of Plane, Texas. They have 52 hospitals and 12 ambulatory surgical centers. They are a for profit organization.

They still have the same helicopter that they started with.

I do not know why exactly the dispatch from Parkview Huntington. But I was told once that is was due to the altitude and reception that the get with the tower is better there.
The altitude in Huntington has nothing to do with it. Although the dispatchers are actually at Parkview Huntington, the transmissions are off the towers in Fort Wayne & Rochester. I am not sure how they get the signal to the towers (whether it be by dedicated phone line or microwave), but the transmissions are not from Huntington. If you ever drive by PHH, you will notice there is no tower there.

Also, it is just my guess, but I imagine they put SAM dispatch in Huntington because they already had the dispatchers there for their EMS dispatch. Give those dispatchers more to do and eliminate having 2 seperate facilities.

Question about dispatch

To answer the question about Parkview Huntington Hospital dispatching SAM is simple, Parkview owns Huntington Hospital and the dispatchers are on Parkviews payroll. In the beginning AMR was contracted to provide the service but after Hunt was purchased by Parkview they switched dispatch centers.
