FRES Dispatch, Suffolk County

Hello,
I recently bought a BCD996 P2. A few weeks ago I was monitoring FRES dispatch east. I just realized I haven’t heard any tones go out for a little more than two weeks now. I pick up Suffolk police fine but nothing on the fire end of things. I tried deleting all frequencies and readding them but still nothing. Anyone else having this problem? Did they change something?

I do not believe the East and West dispatch tg’s are active yet. I can check in a bit

If you are referring to the East & West paging talk groups on the p25 trunk system you will not hear anything as they are not currently being used. They have been active in the past for testing purposes. For now you must monitor the respective uhf paging channels for tone outs.

Does anyone know if Suffolk County, New York is no longer on the P-25 system? I can no longer listed on Suffolkscanner.com. Only some towns are on it now. Thanks.

Yes, the county is still operating its P25 system. Suffolk scanner.com is someone streaming via Rdio Scanner and seems to be all fire and ems. You can only listen to what they stream.

Oh, I was getting all of the suffolk county precincts and the local towns on eastern long island on Suffolkscanner.com, it suddenly stopped giving those. Can anyone recommend a scanner programming service? Thanks.

I don't know why FRES isn't multi-casting UHF Page E and W onto the 7/800mhz system. There are talk groups in the radios. I've never heard activity on them. There's also a MED Dispatch talk-group which I've never heard activity on, and I'm assuming it would multi-cast EMS Paging 155.280

To monitor FRES Paging:
FD Paging WEST 462.9875 PL 94.8
FD Paging EAST 463.1875 PL 151.4
EMS Agency Paging (MEDCOM) 155.280 PL 156.7

FRES might be still dispatching a few FD's on 46.46 in the East Zone. I'm not sure if all sites are online or maybe some depts having switched pagers yet to UHF.

The Zone dividing line is basically the William Floyd Parkway.

There are still a few east end agencies that are on 46.46 but that list continues to decline monthly. Paging was simulcasted on the p25 system when it was initially rolled out for testing, but it has not returned since.

Would you know if Proscan is the same software that Bearcat Warehouse would use to program? Thanks again

If they purchased it then it’s quite possible. Could also be using Sentinel or Butel software. If they used @ProScan to program, both Sentinel and or Butel can read the scanner and write back.
