I am experiencing inconsistent APRS pop-up behavior on my radio.
When receiving packets from certain local mobile stations, I hear the notification beep, but no pop-up appears on the screen. The data is clearly being received because the station updates correctly in the Station List. If I manually delete that specific station from the list, I will get a pop-up on their next transmission. After that first pop-up, it reverts to only giving an audio beep with no visual notification.
However, there are other mobile stations that trigger a pop-up on every single transmission they make, sometimes as often as every 60 seconds. The physical movement of the station, whether they are driving or parked, does not change this behavior at all.
Why do some stations trigger a pop-up every time they transmit, while others only trigger a pop-up once until they are manually removed from the Station List?
