I've said a lot that I'm not interested in FT8, however as I've said that its made me think about something that I may try out on 2 meters, I have a lot of Tait T2000 FM transceivers sat gathering dust and looking inside of one them, there is a lot of room for some modifications.... possibly something FT8 wise as another way to use the 2 meter band, I could also do FT8 on 6 meters with my transverter that will work with these radios.

Right now its just an idea and I haven't fully thought it out but from some googling it would appear I can use a regular transceiver for FT8 with some interface.

All of the needed audio/TX signals are available on the accessory pins on the connector.
What I don't know is if the audio out is high level of fixed volume wiper. The rest can be done with software.
Audio into the PC, SK from the PC and TX on the RS232.
Not much FT8 on 2, more on 6. Consider VARA-FM, may be some of that.
