I'm sure you've reviewed the published specs:

If you wish to hear the air bands, you need to set the receive coverage to WIDE. It's item number 11 in the CONFIG menu.

FYI - The Yaesu website lists the following for the 100DR: 174 - 400 MHz (GEN1)

I have no idea what GEN1 indicates, but I can tell you that same listing "174 - 400 MHz (GEN1)" is on the 400XDR page and my 400XDR can definitely be set to Mil Air frequencies and AM. I'm sure I probably set my radio to wide as previously noted and I think I do something else in the settings. I forget as I do it once with my Yaesu radios then save the config. I think I do the same on my handhelds as well.

The mil air freqs I have programmed in are in the 200 ~ 300 MHz range for the local 144 fighter wing. Still, my antennas on the 400 at home and the vehicle are not tuned for that, so the reception is poor.

I would be inclined to go by the frequency ranges posted in the user manual which I posted above.

Nephew has this radio. Had him go to 225 mhz and switch to am. It does work. Sent me a picture showing it. Can't post a picture now as the site I use is down for maintenance. Will post it soon though.

Enjoy your upcoming purchase of an FTM-100DR and listening to mil air on it.

Yeah, interesting I wonder if Yaesu is discontinuing it, or if there's an issue with the supply chain due to the obvious (That's my guess). I even tried MTC Radio and they don't even list one.

Hmm...hey I found one on Amazon, but it's $350. It says Gigaparts is the seller and it had the Mars Mod performed. Although free shipping, that's like $75 more. I believe Gigaparts does free shipping on items over $99 direct from their store, or one of them do. For $350 I would rather buy a used 400XDR, in fact I have done exactly that.

In additional information, has a 2017 listing date. Think this radio came out before that but not sure.
