Set PLAN to 0 and make a "791amap.txt" file. Here's an example from the Jackson Township, NJ Motorola Type II SmartNet TRS:

Code:
500.0000,0.0125,17C
507.0000,0.0125,294

Format is base frequency, spacing, offset (in hex).

Thanks Joesph, I think that'll do it. I have several 400 systems in my area which I rarely run a trunker program on. Thought I'd try wtrunker, which seems to be working ok now.

I am getting a new system which may be a new navy ship. The sysid (8833) is also used by a few other navy ships. The Ronald Reagan is currently under construction about 6 air miles from me, and they typically have weak signals. But the homeport of several navy ships are less then 9 miles. The only ship with this ID listed in the database and also home ported in Norfolk is the Iwo Jima, but it's currently off the coast of Beirut. This particular signal is void of any traffic thus far, which makes me think it may be the Reagan.

Anyway, this wtrunker makes it much easier to stay on one PC.

Hello,

You use:
TRACKSCAN=BC246T
or:
TRACKSCAN=BCD396T

This should work for the 246T, 396T, and 996T. Default baudrate is 57600 baud so it needs to be changed for the 996T.

Is the Uniden BC785D and/or the BC796D supported in this as well? I have an old 785D w/ a digital card i'd like to have this program control.

Yup, match the comport and baud in the trackenv.txt.

TRACKSCAN=BC895
TRACKSCANPORT=COM6
TRACKSCANBAUD=19200
TRACKSLICERPIN=WIN
TRACKSCANPARK=854.0000
TRACKSLICERMODE=invert

Your port, baud and mode may be different.

Bug - System ID not decoding

Hi Eric,

This program runs great - except i'm running into a slight problem with one of the systems in my area.

For some reason, the program does not want to decode the System ID for The Somerset County Public Safetry TRS. All i keep getting is 1234 and i know the ID is 8a27. When I edit the 1234sys file, i am able to get the system to track the system properly. Also, when i put this program on another system, it will decode the Sys ID. Below is a picture of what i'm getting (Note: ID 35360 on the top of the screen seems to be the data channel showing up - converting 35360 into hex yields 8a27, it will just stay at the top of the screen and flash).

Hello,

It will be very helpful if you can record one minute of the control channel as a wave file, zip it, and email it to me, wb1hbu at runbox.com. Record the wave file as 44.1K mono.

I do not have any UHF Motorola trunked systems in my area. I made some changes and during my trip to Ft Payne, AL was able to decode some VHF/UHF systems. It looks like I missed something.

I am having fun with my ISP inept attempts to transfer my DSL service from one provider to another. It started around May and in late July they turned off my DSL without the new provider in place. I have no DSL. I am working on dropping them so my response will be slow and soon my old email address will not work.

On a brighter note I made up a buffer box for my AOR receivers. So far it works. It uses a TL082 to provide a stereo line out level and a mono mic out level. The op amp is a simple buffer where the signal goes into the non-inverting input of the op amp through a 100k resistor. The inverting input is connected to the output. The mic level op amp has a additional 10K resistor to ground so there is 10:1 attenuation.

The buffer circuit is easy. The difficult part is to get the negative supply voltage needed. The AOR AR5000 and AR8600 have voltage on the acc plug. I found this neat chip, ICL7660, that supplies negative DC from the positive DC using two electrolytic caps. I got the JRC version of the chip at Mouser, NJU7660D. The chip handles up to 10 volts. The AR5000 puts out 12 volts so I used a 78L05 regulator to provide +5 volts to the chip. I used 0.1 uf caps to ground on the input side of the 78L05 and on the +5 volt and -5 volt supply lines to help filter things. I used 20 uf caps with the 7660 chip and put another 20 uf cap on the +5 volt line.

After I get settled I will be making schematics and starting a new thread about buffer circuits.

Questions for the group: How do you like the highlighted background in place of the blinking? Personally I think it stands out more than blinking but I am biased as it means more coding to get blinking to work. Are the beeps useful?
I like the highlighted backgrouds, however, i would like to see an option to set the background highlight to a particular color, possibly done in the trackenv file.

The beeps are helpful, but i would rather it play a wav file instead - on the other windows trunker port, i was able to change the default wave file to a siren - to me, it stands out more.

Hi all,

I just started running E W3.84a3 on my system (2250mhz AMD Athlon, 2gb RAM, XP Pro) and it's eating my CPU alive. I get CPU usage between 56% and the high 90s changing randomly every time the task manager updates. Any suggestions on something to look for/do/sort out?

I have that same problem with this Trunker port.

r00t's MTrunker32 works just fine, though.
