I went to do my morning chat with friends on 80 this morning and the band was dead. There were sparse signals across most of the HF bands.
A quick look at www.solarham.net showed the K index was up at 7.. (Highest I've seen it in many years). This equates to a G3 storm. So if your HF activity in the next day or so is less then stellar, this is why.
The effects of a G3 geomagnetic storm are explained here: https://www.swpc.noaa.gov/sites/default/files/images/NOAAscales.pdf
