G5 Copy & Paste Question

I have a question regarding copy and paste inside of the PPS software. The question I got is I have several PPS Code Plugs that I have programmed for various departments within our county and the redundancy of having to re add Towersites, Radio IDs, and Talkgroups can be redundant. I’m wondering if there is a way of being able to copy/paste from one code plug to another.

Correct, so I could radio over our radio aliases and also like Towersite lists to too from one code plug to another.

Based on my understanding of these pagers and PPS, I don't see a way to amend multiple codeplugs with a single change common to all without manually changing each codeplug for each department. The Unications don't accept over-the-air programming like a subscriber radio with transmit capability, and even then, it may be department-specific.

Note that I have not used or experimented with import / export of data, but I would think this could be accomplished externally in a spreadsheet program, then imported into PPS.

You can import with a properly formatted CSV file.

If you're talking about creating new profiles for additional units, you could start with tab C2 ("Copy from the Existing Profile"), then tailor for the specific needs of the user. At least that'd let you start from a common base, and you wouldn't have to re-create everything from scratch.

If you're talking about updating the profiles once they're in use, there's not much you can do, really. You can import new talkgroups (but not subscriber IDs) from RR-style CSV files. I don't think you can use that to add sites to systems that you've already programmed, although I haven't tried.
