• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Good Afternoon all and Happy Holidays. Received a G5 for Christmas and for the most part no issues programming. Able to import trunking information from Radio Reference no problem. Question/scenario - using E7 of the software - Zone 2 knob position 1 I have a talk group 4977 dec/1371 hex. Trunk TG-Monitor, Priority Talk Group List has 4977/1371. No scanning. When on this channel I am receiving other trunking voice activity from other talk groups. I am sure its a simple setting in the G5 but have spent the last five hours looking through this forum and do not see a similar explanation. Thank You for any assistance!

Trunking TG-Monitor will scan all talkgroups active on the system, and ID the ones you have entered into the list with aliases.

Trunking TG-Scan will only scan the ones in the list.
I totally missed he had that instead of TG scan. Thanks.

I'm assuming then you don't have to add TG 65535 to the list any longer then? You can add 64 regular groups and put it TG monitor and it will scan for everything identifying the 64 you have in there?

This is not correct, if you have it programmed to monitor or you use 65535 you may only add 63 known TGs to your list. The G series pagers need that 64th placeholder for the unknown/discovered TG to be displayed and heard.

I just tried this with my G4. On my County zone, on knob ch 6 filled with 64 TG, uprogrammed ones came through. It does Work.
I have Firmware 1.35 in it. I don't know if it's only some Firmware.

Ok thanks. That's what I had always been told.

Ok I'll try it when I get home. I have one that has 63 in it and the wild card I'll just add one more and eliminate the wild card and see what happens. Thanks.
