They are using a computerized system that tones out based upon CAD information. My department is looking into it. Essentially, if there is a nature of call and address it will tone out and give that information. The purpose is to speed up response with fire departments to meet the NFPA requirements for medical and fire calls within the 90% of all calls. The system is tied to CAD and the radio system etc.
