Buy a good comercial 6dB antenna and use good line and put it up high.

At this site, there is a dual band 150MHz / 450MHz antanna with 5db gain for UHF. 150450 part #. Its a MAXRAD. Add the base adp for UHF and it has 6" ground elements. www.bncantenna.com
