GMRS in SC

Is it worth getting a GMRS license in SC? Is there any activity along the Grand Strand, in Charleston, Greenville/Anderson and Columbia or will I be listening to dead air?

Go to myGMRS.com - GMRS Repeater Directory, sign in, and see what repeaters, if any, are listed.

Additionally, you should program the 8 channels into a scanner and listen for activity. (1 - Just because repeaters are listed, does not tell you how active they are; and 2 - not all owners of repeaters want their repeaters listed, particularly if their useage is restricted to certain people. 3 - simplex activity won't be listed.)

There are at least two repeaters in the Columbia area. I am told that the one in Lexington is quite active.
