I saw a message from five years ago regarding repeaters in Frankfort, KY. I recently purchased a GMRS radio and have heard nothing on any channel for a few weeks in Frankfort. Is GMRS just dead here? Do any surrounding areas have active channels or nets? Thanks.

There are Two repeaters in Frankfort, one Frankfort east, one Frankfort west.

They are on a closed system and access will not be granted.
There are two repeaters in Shelbyville, one on the Knobs, and another on a water tank in town that cover Frankfort fairly well, and are pretty busy.
Those are both listed as closed systems. I have emailed the owner (same for both) and never received any response. I’ve checked several times and there’s never any traffic on either.
