I have a Windows Vista Laptop that came with trialware version of Norton 360 internet security suite on it that will expire in another couple of weeks. I am not planning to renew it, so what is a good freeware alternative?

I run Firefox on this PC. It is running Vista Home Basic. I connect to the internet both at home and at work through wireless encrypted networks that are both behind firewalled routers.

AVG is your best bet, unless you are like me and work for the largest office superstore and when the Norton people give you a free copy of 09 Anti-Virus, you can't beat that! :)

I've used AVG along with Adaware and Spybot S&D and have been virus free for many years.

Also, don't forget, use FireFox with AdBlock Plus! I hear there are ads here on R/R, but I don't see them!
