OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The state will be getting $29.9-million in federal homeland security funds.

Office of Homeland Security director Kerry Pettingill says the money will be used to prevent a terrorist attack, reduce Oklahoma's vulnerability to an attack and prepare on how to respond to an attack.

More than half of the federal funds – $15.5-million -- will go to the State Homeland Security Program.

Of that, $12-million will be dedicated to expanding a statewide communications program.

Good for them, Bad for us

It may good for them, but it is bad for us, because now they will have the funding to continue the "Astro-25" upgrade.

From what I've heard, they are testing Astro-25 on the State system in Tulsa area.

Just in time for OKC's EDACS Provoice.
