Well, believe me, most of us have gone through multiple attempts at getting this mash-up of various software applications to work together properly but it actually does if you give it time and patience. I mentioned earlier that it's not point and click and that's not the fault of the people that developed the software, to be honest, it's just that nobody has focused on developing easy to use software for the average Joe that happens upon SDR hardware of any kind. People that are technically adept at creating the software (and the hardware too like HackRF created by Michael Ossmann) don't necessarily create things for everyone to understand and make use of to the same degrees they do, they see things differently from their given POV so we just have to accept such situations and deal with it the best we can.
Take a break from things for a day or two, then come back - scrap everything you've got, delete drivers, delete the software in whatever state it's currently in, start with a clean slate and do it all over again, change something or try a different guide or tutorial, then do it again if needed, and even again.
I didn't get all my stuff working on the first, second, or even the third attempt, it wasn't easy but I kept going back to it because I hate that feeling of not being able to figure things out and make it work like - go figure - everybody else (and I say this even in spite of another comment I made a short time ago in another thread about me being great at new things, geez).
Anyway, it's worth it in the long run: that first time everything works and you hear something you never heard before or you hear it as expected is a pretty amazing moment.
