• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Well you found the fuse, good. However in your picture it shows the fuse cut and lifted. This is done to enable ignition sense. When this is done, not only do you have to power the red lead, but you also have to apply 12 volts on pin 10 of the accessory connector to get the radio to come on. Swapping the controllers may not give the 12 volts on pin 10 that you'd need. This would look like a dead radio.

Use an omelet to see if it's still good. If it is, just tack solder it back onto the board. Now you don't need worry about pin 10.

If it is a bad fuse, I just went to Amazon and searched "Pico fuse" and a bunch came up.

Now im confused!

This radio was used in a Repeater.

I did notice a Blue Wire on the repeater cable pulled out and bend back and zip tied like it was done on purpose.

To be honest with you, I was given this repeater so i dont know its history.

I just know the repeater and radios worked. I took the repeater to a shop to get duplexer and radios re tuned.

When repeater/Radios was ready for pick up, the dealer told me the Rick controller repeater repeater switch was loose and kinda bad. They had to wiggle it to keep repeater working.

I told the dealer i had another GR300 repeater with 2 GM300 radio inside. The repeater i took to dealer was a GR300 with 2 M120 radios.

The dealer told me i could use the controller off the GM300.

I went home, plugged in the repeater and it worked. I unplugged it and swapped out the rick controllers and
then turned the repeater on and then radios wouldnt turn on.

I tried powering both M120 on different PSU and radios was dead.

I Assumed the wrong Rick caused radios to die. I then noticed that Blue wire on one cable was exposed but zip tied back like it was done on Purpose.

I dont believe i put cables in wrong way.

I taken radios to shop and this is picture they showed me. They Soldered the part back i think and both radios worked.

Not sure whats going on and how did this happen?
