I heard a helicopter on one of the fire nets and every time the pilot would announce what stage of flight he was in he would say “suicide” what does this mean? And since coming up here I haven’t heard DPS since I was in phoenix anyone know why?

Don't know about helo traffic but where are you trying to listen to DPS? AZWins or UHF?

Hello, welcome to Arizona, AZDPS District 02 was alive & active Memorial Day weekend on the UHF frequencies, maybe your scanner, reception is always spotty around that area, also could be really quite, AZDPS doesn't have many units in that area, are you on the north or south side

I was on the south side but I’ve now traveled south to Sedona where I’ll spend the rest of my vacation I also now can receive AZWINS and I’m unsure which site I should use are they simulcast?

No, they are not simulcast, AZWINS is still being built out into Northern Arizona, many new sites are popping up all over the place, the only tower I was picking up with activity was Mt. Elden so far, I am unsure of what sites are covering the Sedona area for AZWINS
