maybe somebody could shed more light on this. I read somewhere that Grand Isle County Fire is being toned from 155.820 now. I know in the past they use alphanumeric pagers. Is 155.820 something new? (155.820 - central dispatch in St. Albans)

thanks!

The last I checked, the Islands are still being paged on the Contact alpha-numeric digital paging network. St. Albans Central is doing the dispatching for the islands now but utilizes their 800 MHz. radio system to talk to the Islands. Those departments that still have VHF radios, like Alburgh, have the ability to talk to Central on 155.820 if need be.

The only talk about paging that I have heard recently is Alburgh. They want to go back to tone/voice pagers, but they want to use their 154.190 channel which has a repeater located in the village. It has incredible coverage in the northern islands.
