Hello all, looking for some help with Chemung County, NY fire frequencies. i have them programmed in scanner but not getting anything off of them. The only frequency i am hearing is the Law Enforcement one Titled (Chemung Law Dispatch) freq: 154.875. i will attach the database i have been using. I was told in another forum to reach out on here for verification on the P25 Fire Frequencies

That is the currently available information. I can confirm the 154.250/453.8875 analog frequencies are active. The latest submission I have is from June 2023:
"Elmira Fire Dispatch and operations is County 460.5875. The listed Elmira Fire 453 frequencies have not been used for some time."

The info for the P25 Fire frequencies was submitted back in 2017 and FD2 was not confirmed active and the NAC was assumed.

You might try scanning with "NAC *" in case the NAC info is not accurate but you may be out of range.

There is a lack of reliable information for Chemung and Steuben Counties. My attempts to verify questionable Chemung and Steuben frequencies with reliable submitters from adjacent areas in NY and PA have generally been "nothing heard".

Where are you monitoring from? I've monitored Chemung before in Watkins Glen (Schuyler County) to the north, and audio/signal was very distorted on a scanner. A real P25 digital radio in receive only did improve signal, but still cut off at times, and that was being in the county to the north of Chemung. The terrain around there is likely hindering your reception. But the 3 frequencies shown in the DB are 3 that I did hear when I was there, but that was a few years back.

I'm located south of Wellsburg and get a number of them. Fire 1 is usually garbled but I usually get Fire 3 okay. For analog I get 155.25 and 453.025 (HH CC Fire Page). But on my weekly trips to Sayre I set my TRX-1 to a "Valley" V-Scanner that doesn't include much of Chemung County.

If you are monitoring from Sayre with a P25 scanner see if you can get an NAC for Athens Township Fire Department. They are now licensed for P25. The main frequency should be 154.12250.

Something I should have mentioned. I don't hear CC FD 1 Main or CC FD 3 City all that often. It's usually when there an incident on I-86 such as an MVC or brush fire. That may be your problem. You didn't mention what scanner you are using but if it isn't an SDS100/SDS2200 you probably won't have much luck. Most of what I listen to in the valley is NXDN/DMR but it's not for everybody.

And Chemung Fire does a daily radio test between 7:00 AM and 7:30 AM. That would be a good time to see what you can get.
