GRE PSR-800 problem

My 800 just started doing this, when it picks up transmissions on 2 certain systems, one is P25 system and the other is Motorola ASTRO 9600 baud. It picks up the transmission and I get audio, but the audio suddenly stops then comes back, I first noticed this after I downloaded the recent firmware upgrade.

Do a reset of your scanner back to the factory default. It is an issue with the RSSI .. and it is not related to the latest firmware update.

I had the same issue .. and this was the solution.

You can change the settings of your scanner how you like them after the update. But for some reason .. the update works better if the settings are at the default.

I noticed the same issue with the firmware update previous to the current one as well. Changing my settings to the default fixed this problem though.

This would be the second reset to factory defaults I've done since the firmware update. Funny that ever since the update I started having all these problems. I bet all the problems are caused by firmware update.

Have you checked to see if the PRIORITY is in abled ? that will cause the scanner to start & stop.

I have it enabled on certain talkgroups

If you have priority enabled then when the scanner is receiving traffic it will periodically pause the audio while it looks for traffic on the priority channels. If it finds traffic it will immediately switch to that channel. If it doesn't find traffic on a priority channel then all you'll hear is the audio pause for a moment. The length of the pause is dependent on how many priority channels it has to check.
